  • Start Date: August 2025 for the 2025–2026 school year
  • Hours: Part-Time (10 hours/week). Full-Time opportunities available if willing to get crossed-licensed in other states
  • Must have active LCSW license in Maine
  • Grade Levels: K–12th Grades
  • Compensation: Starting at $46/hour (commensurate with experience)
  • Location: 100% Remote

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of students’ mental health, social-emotional functioning, and behavioral needs in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services focused on issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, peer relationships, and family conflict.
  • Respond to crises within the school setting, including suicide risk assessments, child abuse reporting, and emergency mental health support.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans, especially addressing emotional, behavioral, and social goals.
  • Serve as a liaison between school personnel, families, and community agencies to coordinate support and access to resources like mental health services, food assistance, or housing.
  • Develop and implement school-wide prevention programs and social-emotional learning (SEL) initiatives to improve school climate and student well-being.
  • Provide consultation to teachers and school staff regarding behavioral strategies, trauma-informed care, and student mental health concerns.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, interventions, progress, and referrals in accordance with school policies and confidentiality guidelines.
Qualifications

What you need:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program
  • Active state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent (LMSW with supervision may be acceptable depending on state and district)
  • Experience providing clinical or school-based social work services to children and adolescents
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, counseling, and crisis response
  • Knowledge of school systems, child development, and evidence-based interventions
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including educators, psychologists, and administrators
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with electronic recordkeeping systems; experience with telehealth is a plus
