Job summary

Hawaii State Department of Education seeks Social Worker IV to serve students across schools within the Office of Student Support Services as needed and assigned by the English Learner and Migrant Education Section.

The salary range for Social Worker IV, SR-22 is $5,527.00 - $6,728.00 per month, with placement on initial steps or above based on qualifications and department policy. A Bachelor’s or Master’s in social work (or PhD in SW) is required per the education requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, or a Ph.D. in social work from an accredited college/university.
• Ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other documents; read and interpret complex material; and solve complex problems logically and systematically.

Responsibilities

• Seek to improve the overall quality of life of people within the context of their environment through remediation and prevention of their problems.
• Improve accessibility, accountability and coordination of service delivery among professionals and/or agencies.
• Establish working relationships of mutual respect and trust with the clientele served.
• Utilize a variety of helping interventions to enable clients to function as effectively as possible.
