Onward Education is hiring a full-time, in-person School Social Worker to support a school program in Wayne County, Michigan for the 2026/2027 school year. You’ll collaborate with students, families, and school teams to promote social-emotional well-being and remove barriers to learning.

In this role, you’ll provide individual and group counseling, crisis support, and proactive interventions. The position starts ASAP and runs through May 27, 2027, with a 40-hour on-site schedule.

We’re currently hiring a full-time, in-person School Social Worker to support a school program in Wayne County, Michigan for the 2026/2027 school year.

Brief Role Summary

In this role, you’ll partner with students, families, and school teams to support social-emotional well-being and remove barriers to learning. You’ll provide counseling, crisis support, and proactive interventions that help students thrive academically and personally.

• Role: School Social Worker
• Schedule: 40 hours/week, on-site
• School Year: 2026/2027
• Start: ASAP
• End Date: 05/27/2027
• Location: Wayne County, Michigan (on-site)
• Pay Range: $45-50/hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities

You’ll support students and the school community by:

• Providing individual and small-group counseling using age-appropriate strategies
• Supporting crisis response and collaborating on student safety/support plans when needed
• Partnering with families and staff to coordinate supports and connect to school/community resources
• Helping address barriers such as attendance concerns, family stressors, and behavioral/social-emotional needs
• Contributing to a positive school climate through prevention-focused student support

Qualifications

• Michigan School Social Worker credential and educator certification (as required for the role)
• Experience supporting students’ social-emotional, behavioral, and/or family-related needs in a school setting
