JOB OVERVIEW:

Assist students with academic learning by providing strategic services that identify and address social/emotional and environmental issues interfering with the educational process.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • School Social Worker Endorsement, PreK-21
  • Online application, resume, and recommendation letters as required
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License or other required license
  • Master's Degree in Social Work
  • Foreign language skills are preferred
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Demonstrate current knowledge of content and standards
  • Create a positive classroom climate
  • Use instructional management systems to maximize learning
  • Differentiate instruction and monitor student progress
  • Supervise assignments for assistants and volunteers
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
  • Meet professional responsibilities as outlined in the Staff Handbook
  • Engage in ongoing professional development for license renewal
  • Maintain professional work habits and effective communication
  • Maintain valid Professional Educator License
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide crisis intervention services
  • Serve as a member of the Pupil Services team
  • Supervise assignments for Program Assistants
  • Prepare and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) annually
  • Maintain accurate documentation per federal, state, and district requirements
  • Collect data on student growth related to support needs and IEP goals
  • Participate in school-related duties as assigned
