Position: 1.00 FTE School Social Worker

Location: Wayne Technical and Career Center (WTCC), Williamson, NY

Salary Range: $51,163 - $60,059, based on experience and demonstrated abilities. Benefits include paid holidays & leave time, NYS retirement, and health & dental insurance.

This position may involve direct work with students with autism, emotional and/or developmental disabilities, which may include, but are not limited to, oppositional and aggressive behaviors; mood disorders; and potentially severe and unpredictable physical and/or verbal outbursts. School Social Workers are expected to:

  • Work with a diverse population of students.
  • Provide a safe, orderly environment conducive to teaching and learning.
  • Implement targeted interventions for social, emotional, and behavioral regulation.
  • Conduct group and/or individual counseling using evidence-based interventions.
  • Gather data, create Functional Behavior Assessments, and develop Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Collaborate and consult with community-based providers, parents, district colleagues, and provide resources to meet student needs.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with stakeholders.
  • Record and report student progress.

This role may require lifting or physical interventions daily, involving students weighing 50-200 pounds. Successful completion of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training is required; W-FL BOCES provides initial and refresher TCI trainings.
