We are seeking a School Social Worker to provide an integrated network of student support services to help students succeed in school.
You'll do this by:
- Serving as liaison between home and school by communicating with parents/guardians based on student needs and documenting interventions.
- Assessing the needs for additional services, such as outpatient counseling or other community-based supports, and assisting students and families with the referral process.
- Participating in parent-teacher conferences to assist teachers in handling questions and discussions about students' emotional and behavioral problems.
- Collaborating with district liaisons, Committees on Special Education, BOCES staff, and parents on career and technical programming to support student adjustment.
- Providing counseling services for students based on social, emotional, and school adjustment needs, including risk assessments, and maintaining electronic logs of counseling services as per IEP requirements.

Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university
- Valid New York State Certification as a School Social Worker
- New York State License as a Certified Social Worker (LMSW or LCSW) preferred
- Prior school experience preferred
