Norwich Public Schools is seeking a School Social Worker to support students' behavioral and emotional well-being. This role involves assessing social/emotional issues, providing therapy, and facilitating communication between families and school staff. Qualified candidates will hold a CT State certification and be skilled in crisis intervention and support services.
JOB DESCRIPTION: SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER
Qualifications: Certified by CT State Dept of Education as a School Social Worker
Reports To: Director of Special Education & Student Services
General Description: The School Social Worker works with students, families and school staff around issues of behavioral, social and emotional concerns. They maintain a working relationship with collateral and community resources. They provide a safe environment that promotes social, emotional and behavioral health so students are better able to learn.

Terms of Employment: Salary and work year to be determined by the contract between the Norwich Board of Education and the Norwich Teachers League.
