Job summary

Sbhonline is seeking a compassionate School Social Worker / Mental Health Clinician for its boys' upper school in Brooklyn, NY. You will provide individual and group counseling to adolescents with high-functioning autism and learning disabilities, using strengths-based approaches to support emotional well-being, independence, and academic success.

Applicants should have a Master's in Social Work or related field, NY licensure or eligibility, and experience with adolescents.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
  • New York State licensure or eligibility for licensure preferred.
  • Experience working with adolescents is required.
  • Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorders and/or learning disabilities is strongly preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including CBT and autism-informed interventions.
  • Support students' social-emotional development, emotional regulation, and executive functioning skills.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and related service providers to promote student success.
  • Coordinate services and maintain effective communication with families and outside providers.
  • Provide behavioral consultation and classroom support to assist students throughout the school day.
  • Develop individualized strategies that address students' emotional, behavioral, and educational needs.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and progress records.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to treatment planning.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment that promotes student growth and resilience.

Position Overview

A boys' upper school is seeking a compassionate and experienced School Social Worker / Mental Health Clinician to join its multidisciplinary team. This role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting adolescents with high-functioning autism and learning disabilities through individualized, strengths-based interventions that foster emotional well-being, confidence, independence, and lifelong success.
