$400 for each full-time year of certified teaching or verified like experience, max $2800

Job Goal:
Provide our students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens through the delivery of home/school/community relationships, and alleviate barriers to learning
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work(MSW) desired or equivalent professional social work degree from an accredited school
- Arizona State Social Worker license (LMSW) and Arizona School Social Worker Certification
- One year of successful school social work experience or one year of field instruction in a school system, or six semester hours of acceptable coursework
- Knowledge of school,districtand community resources available for students and families
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Social Work Code of Ethics and sensitivity to diverse cultures
Core Job Functions:
- Serve as a district-wide liaison, support and resource between schools,familiesand community agencies
- Establish andmaintainpartnerships with community resources to expand access to services for students and their families
- Create,implementand deliver professional development and training opportunities for staff to promote positive, social, emotional,behavioraland mental health in students
- Collaborate with the director to develop and implement district-wide procedures,processesand best practices as they relate to counseling and social services
- Assistfamilies in accessing andutilizingschool and community resources
- Participate and act as a representative of the department on community task forces
- Develop,expandand organize parent, guardian and community education and outreach opportunities
- Onboard and mentornewly hiredcounseling and social work staff to ensure smooth integration of services on their school campuses
- Supervise counselor and social work interns inappropriate fieldplacements in conjunction with university personnel
- Collect,reviewand analyze data for use in district-wide planning as it relates to a comprehensive counseling program
- Consult with school personnelregardingpotential problems affecting student academic progress,behaviorand personal well-being to brainstorm solutions
- Continue professional growth tomaintainknowledge of skills related to the job functions andtimelytopics
- Attend andparticipatein meetings which may occur beyond the staff’snormally scheduledworkday
- Perform related duties as assigned that support the overallobjectiveof the position
