Job summary

Spartanburg School District Two is seeking a Security Technician to help maintain a safe campus by monitoring security systems and assisting with safety procedures. The role collaborates with administrators and SROs to address security concerns and respond to incidents.

The position is full-time, on-site at Chesnee schools, with an 7.5-hour day and a starting wage of $16.41 per hour. A valid driver’s license and physical capability are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa may be required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the Evolve Detection System and other electronic security systems to detect unauthorized items or suspicious activity.
• Conduct ongoing surveillance of school premises to ensure safety and security protocols are followed.
• Identify and report security concerns or breaches promptly to school administration and the assigned SRO.
• Assist in implementing emergency response procedures during crisis situations, drills, or real-time incidents.
• Maintain accurate records of security-related incidents, detections, and daily observations.
• Collaborate with administrators, security personnel, and law enforcement to enhance campus safety strategies.
• Provide support during student arrival, dismissal, and high-traffic times to ensure orderly movement and safety.
• Serve as a visible and approachable presence on campus to deter unsafe behaviors and promote a positive school climate.
• Attend training sessions and stay current with district safety procedures and system updates.
• Must be able to lift at least 10 pounds and remain standing for prolonged periods of time.
