Job summary

Charter Schools USA is seeking a Security Guard to patrol school facilities, monitor security systems, and ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors. The role includes supervising security personnel, managing logs, and responding to incidents in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in security (or 3+ years in supervisory roles) and the ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to recognize potentially unsafe situations and maintain facility safety.
• Knowledge of fire extinguishers and proper usage.
• Ability to perform basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Ability to identify authorized vehicles and people on premises.
• Must be alert, reliable, and trustworthy.
• Bilingual preferred but not required; basic computer skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Patrols facilities including buildings and parking lots; report incidents to police or fire as needed.
• Oversee student pick-up and drop-off procedures.
• Work nights, holidays, and weekends as required.
• Supervise other security personnel on site.
• Maintain visitor/building logs and assist visitors with procedures.
• Engage in training and stay updated on safety protocols.
• Monitor electronic security systems and enforce safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by school administrators.
