Job summary

ReNEW Schools in Hartford, CT seeks a School Safety Officer to help maintain order and security across its campuses. The role focuses on enforcing rules and ensuring public safety within the school environment.

Qualifications

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Ensure public safety involving the control, maintenance, and enforcement of rules and regulations governing the order and security of the Hartford Public Schools. The position requires a close daily working relationship with other personnel. Work is performed under the supervision of the school principal or assigned building administrator.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must pass the state sanctioned standard Physical Fitness Test.
• Must have knowledge of issues related to school security.
• Must have knowledge of the safety and security needs of students, teachers and other school personnel.
• Prior Security experience preferred.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess State Security Certification

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

HFSSPO 2026-2027 schedule 20: $37,355.-.$44,130 schedule 21 $40,996 - $48,430.
