General Responsibilities

Under the leadership and direction of the school building administrator and the guidance of the Office of Security and Emergency Management, the position is responsible for providing armed protective service work to maintain order and discipline, prevent crime on school property, buses, or at school-sponsored events, and ensure the safety, security, and welfare of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The role also involves investigating policy violations and detaining students violating laws or school policies.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

The candidate must have knowledge of security practices and procedures, the ability to recognize potential emergencies, respond quickly, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Skills in operating security equipment and understanding threat scenarios requiring the use of a firearm are essential.

Education And Experience
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED, previous law enforcement experience.
  • Preferred: Experience working with children.
