Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher or Illinois Paraprofessional Educator License (or valid Short-Term Paraprofessional Approval).
• Three (3) years of security officer, school security officer, or law enforcement experience.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• TCI or CPI training completed within 90 days of employment.
• CPR and First Aid certification completed within 90 days of employment.
• Experience working with students.
• Excellent human relations and communication skills.
• Ability to work with staff, students, and diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to stay calm in crisis and diffuse situations effectively.
• Ability to intervene physically when necessary and manage emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain student safety and security at Central High School.
• Respond to emergencies and after-hours alarm calls as directed.
• Collaborate with staff to support a safe learning environment.
