Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provide security for district facilities and adjacent properties.
• Serve as a member of the School Emergency Response Team.
• Patrol buildings, grounds, parking, and surrounding property.
• Monitor entrances and arrival/dismissal of students and visitors.
• Provide security during athletic events and other district activities.
• Conduct routine safety inspections of facilities.
• Collaborate with administrators to address safety concerns.
• Develop strategies to prevent dangerous situations near school property.
• Respond to security concerns and emergencies; notify admins/law enforcement.
• Work with police, responders, administrators, staff, and students.
• Assist with developing and distributing school safety information.
• Maintain familiarity with safety procedures and emergency plans.
• Participate in ongoing training related to school safety and emergency response.
• Support district safety initiatives and annual safety audits.
• Maintain professional relationships with students, staff, families, and community.

Required Qualifications include:

You will be required to complete a drug screening, current Act 235 Certification and provide current clearances (Act 34, 151, 114, and 126). Extensive experience working with security or law enforcenment agencies.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide security for district facilities and adjacent properties.
• Serve as a member of the School Emergency Response Team.
• Patrol school buildings, grounds, parking areas, and surrounding property.
• Monitor building entrances and the arrival and dismissal of students and visitors.
• Provide security during athletic events, extracurricular activities, and other district events.
• Conduct routine walkthroughs and safety inspections of district facilities.
• Work collaboratively with building administrators to identify and address potential safety concerns.
• Assist in developing strategies to prevent and/or minimize dangerous situations on or near school property.
• Respond appropriately to security concerns and emergencies and notify administrators and/or law enforcement when necessary.
• Work cooperatively with police, emergency responders, school administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
• Assist with the development and distribution of school safety and emergency response information.
• Maintain familiarity with school safety procedures, emergency response plans, and best practices.
• Participate in required and ongoing training related to school safety, security, weapons, emergency response, and other relevant areas.
• Support district safety initiatives and participate in annual safety activities and audits.
• Maintain a professional and positive relationship with students, staff, families, and members of the community.
