Job summary

Burlington Public Schools’ Burlington High School is seeking a Science Lab Technician for the 2026/2027 academic year. The role supports the science department by preparing materials and maintaining a safe, functional lab environment for students and faculty.

The position reports to the Chair of the Science Department and involves lab preparation, inventory management, safety compliance, and equipment upkeep.

Qualifications

• Must have strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong communication and collaboration with faculty.
• Safety conscious and able to follow protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, and test materials and equipment for student labs and demonstrations.
• Manage inventory by ordering, receiving and stocking chemicals and supplies; maintain SDS catalog.
• Follow safety protocols for handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and biological waste.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, cleaning, repair, and calibration as needed.
• Perform clerical tasks using Google apps for education.
