Job summary

The Schenectady City School District is seeking School Safety Officers to join its security team at the secondary level. Multiple full-time and part-time positions are available, with hours of 8 per day across a 10-month work year.

The role focuses on maintaining order, protecting people and property, and enforcing school rules in a respectful manner. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and relevant experience, plus a NYS driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; prior experience with youth or security is preferred.
• Valid New York State driver’s license required.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of entry level staff as assigned.
• Inspect and monitor school premises to ensure safety.
• Direct traffic and manage parking areas as needed.
• Greet visitors and guide them to appropriate offices.
• Prepare written security reports and maintain logs.
