Job summary

Truesdale Police Department is seeking a School Resource Officer to patrol and investigate at Rebecca Boone Elementary School, with on-site duties and community engagement responsibilities.

The role requires two years of full-time sworn law enforcement experience and a current Missouri POST license plus a Missouri driver's license. Expect travel for training and attendance at annual SRO conferences. OT is offered and a comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• 2 years full-time sworn law enforcement experience required to apply.
• Be willing to attend SRO training conferences yearly.
• The SRO must be willing to travel for training opportunities.
• The SRO will assist with school crossing guard duties/traffic control as needed.
• Be familiar with the juvenile justice system and similar agencies.
• Current Missouri POST License and a valid Missouri driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• The SRO will be required to work patrol, traffic and criminal investigations when necessary and/or when school is not in session.
• The SRO will be responsible for all investigations initiated at the assigned school.
• The SRO will assist the City and Police Department with community event planning and implementation.
• The SRO must be willing to speak and engage with large groups and be a good communicator.
• The SRO must be proactive and always be willing to learn.
