Job summary

The City of Luling is seeking a full-time School Resource Officer (SRO) to provide law enforcement services within the Luling Independent School District and City of Luling. The officer will maintain safety on campus, respond to incidents, and liaise between school personnel and the Police Department.

The role requires strong judgment, excellent communication, and the ability to work with students, staff, families, and the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a TCOLE-approved peace officer academy.
• Current Texas BPO certification or eligibility for appointment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for assistance on campus and in the district.
• Maintain a highly visible presence to promote safety on campuses.
• Investigate incidents, enforce laws, and prepare reports.
• Coordinate with school officials and police department for security planning.
• Transport arrestees as required and issue citations when appropriate.
