Job summary

MSD Wayne Township Emergency Services Education Center in Indianapolis, IN, seeks a School Police Officer for Lynhurst 7th & 8th Grade. The officer protects students, staff, and property, oversees safe arrival/dismissal, enforces laws, and coordinates with school leadership.

Starting immediately, the role requires Tier 1 certification or completion, completion of mandatory in-service/NASRO trainings, and ongoing collaboration with principals and district personnel to maintain a safe school

Qualifications

• Must become Tier 1 officer by attending the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
• In-service training and NASRO SRO (40 hours) training required.
• Role requires enforcing Indiana Criminal and Traffic Code violations.

Responsibilities

• Enforce Indiana Criminal and Traffic Code violations.
• Monitor areas as assigned by the Chief of Police or designee.
• Administer first aid and coordinate EMS response when needed.
• Control traffic during arrival and dismissal at schools.
