Job summary

Jefferson County Public Schools is seeking a School Resource Officer to patrol assigned schools by car and help maintain a safe learning environment. You will act as a liaison between schools and local law enforcement and monitor district property and facilities to protect students and staff.

The role requires armed sworn law enforcement certification, completion of a background check, and eligibility for SRO commission in Recruit status.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Meets minimum entrance qualifications for School Resource Officer commission to be hired in "Recruit" status.
• Meets qualifications for Peace Officer Professional Standards (POPS) certification to obtain "Officer" status.
• Successful completion of a law enforcement background check.
