Job description

Registrar
Primary Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the building administrator, to administer the school's accounting and bookkeeping activities, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, maintains and develops class rosters and assignments, assists in the development and distribution of student grade cards, and assists in various administrative and clerical tasks for the school building.

Reports to:

Building Administrator

Essential Functions
  • Maintain and monitor schoolrelated accountingactivities, includinginputting andmaintaining data and information into the accounting system regarding account balance and account spendingto ensure records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Input class assignments and rosters for students in classes.
  • Complies with reporting procedures and internal controls for timely and accurate completion of reporting and record-keeping requirements.
  • Composes correspondence as needed for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information regarding accounts payable issues, balances, etc.
  • Maintainsrecords for accurate and up-to-date filing and recordkeeping.
  • Assists in banking and other financial transaction activities as required.
  • Assists in ensuring the reliability of key operating data through period audits and corrective action..
Additional Duties

Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the scheduling and accounting system.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding school district financial and other information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
  • Ability to train and mentor other accounting employees.

  • Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance.
  • Required:Experience in payroll, math, accounting, or recordkeeping.
