Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks a School Registered Nurse (RN) to manage student health services in an educational setting. The RN will deliver nursing care, monitor student well-being, and respond to emergencies according to policy and physician orders.

The role requires an active RN license in the state and a Bachelor’s degree is preferred. School Nurse certification and prior school/pediatric experience are advantageous. This is a contract–full-time position located in Overland Park, KS.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of employment.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred; School Nurse Certification as required by state or contract.
• One year of school nursing, public health, or pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the nursing process and delivery of student care in a school setting.
• Promote the health and safety of students and respond to medical emergencies.
• Liaise between families, school staff and healthcare providers.
• Provide services in accordance with Amergis’ policies and physician orders.

The School Registered Nurse oversees the application of thenursing process and the delivery of student care in a school setting. TheSchool RN supports the physical, mental and emotional well-being of studentswithin the school setting. The School RN plays an essential role in promotingthe health and safety, responding to medical emergencies, managing chronicconditions and serving as a liaison between families, school staff andhealthcare providers. The School RN provides services in accordance with Amergis’philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.

Minimum Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state ofemployment
• Bachelor's Degree, preferred
• School Nurse Certification as required by state or contract
• One year of school nursing, public health or pediatricexperience, preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
