Make a Difference

The School Registered Nurse Ambulatory provides health services to promote the physical, mental, emotional, and social growth and development of students within schools. Responsibilities include caring for students with chronic health issues, identifying health needs during the school day, providing health education, medication management, emotional support, and referrals to higher care levels as needed. The nurse supports the educational process by ensuring student health, promoting healthy habits, and strengthening learning outcomes. This position supports Westwood Elementary School on the south side of Greenwood, Indiana, within Greenwood Community School Corporation. The opening is for the 2025-2026 school year, with employment starting in summer 2025.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN, CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA accredited school of nursing, or at least three years of related professional nursing experience.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Indiana license, as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required.
• At least two years of experience working with pediatric patients required.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Compassionate and caring demeanor.
• Accountable and self-directed.
