Job summary

Community Action Council in Lancaster, KY seeks an experienced Head Start School Readiness Coach to monitor program compliance and coach teaching staff using CLASS and Practice-Based Coaching. The role emphasizes improving child readiness and development outcomes for Head Start students.

The position requires a 4-year degree (master's preferred) and 5+ years in early childhood education, with knowledge of licensing standards and data handling in Excel and Word.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred) in early childhood education or child development and/or teaching certification in IECE with 5+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of Kentucky licensing regulations, Head Start Program Performance Standards, KY ALL STARS and NAEYC accreditation.
• Proficiency with technology, Excel and Word, and ability to manipulate internal databases.
• Knowledge of Creative Curriculum, AEPS, Teaching Strategies GOLD, ECERS/ITERS, Practice Based Coaching, and CLASS is preferred.
• Understanding of developmentally appropriate practice in early childhood education and how to support school readiness goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and technical assistance on child development best practices and professional development for staff and volunteers.
• Monitor and ensure program compliance and implement coaching plans.
• Lead staff to achieve higher levels of CLASS and child assessment outcomes.
