Job summary

The Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) in Wharton ISD performs professional psychological work in assessment, behavior management, and counseling for students with emotional or learning challenges. The LSSP conducts assessments and provides services under the special education program.

Education: Master’s degree and one year of relevant school-based experience; Texas license as an LSSP is required. Travel to district schools and a valid Texas drivers license are also required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
• One year of experience providing psychological services in an educational setting.
• Texas license as LSSP required; ability to travel to district schools and a valid Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Conducts psychological assessments and clinical interviews with students.
• Provides counseling and behavioral support within IEP services.
• Offers input on MTSS and classroom interventions; contributes to MDT planning.
• Documents findings to develop PLAAFP and evaluation reports.
• Collaborates with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student outcomes.
