Job summary

Plano ISD is seeking LSSP Interns to support the assessment and intervention activities for students with emotional, social, and behavioral concerns. Interns are supervised by a licensed school psychologist and participate in evaluations for suspected Autism within a TBHEC-TSBEP framework.

Responsibilities include organizing evaluations, facilitating team meetings, and contributing to RTI/MTSS processes while gaining practical experience in school psychology settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field and near completion of a master's/specialist degree in school psychology.
• Enrollment in NASP-accredited program with year-long, 1200+ hour internship.
• Completion of supervised practicum enabling school-based psychological services.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, assist in evaluating students and supporting staff in special education.
• Facilitate case management through meetings, parent/teacher consultations, observations, and behavior plans.
• Evaluate intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning of referred students.
• Select appropriate tests, score, interpret data, and write evaluation reports.

Education

Bachelor's degree and near completion of a masters or specialist degree in school psychology

Enrollment in NASP-accredited school psychologist training program

Completion of coursework and practicum for school-based psychological services
