Job summary

Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center District Wide – Oakley, Kansas is seeking a School Psychologist to provide assessment, consultation, and mental health supports for students with disabilities. The role involves collaborating with the General Ed Intervention team, developing recommendations, and preparing detailed written evaluation reports as part of the IEP process.

Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, crisis response, and continued professional licensure maintenance;

Qualifications

  • Certification as a School Psychologist in Kansas (EC-12) or eligible.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and follow directions.
  • Valid Kansas driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.

Responsibilities

  • Be a contributing member of the General Ed Intervention team.
  • Assess difficulties of referred students through appropriate diagnostic evaluations.
  • Attend and provide staffing team with recommendations for programming/placement for all students evaluated.
  • Develop detailed written reports of each evaluation with recommendations.
  • Conduct individual and/or group therapy for students as designated by IEP.
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents on educational needs of students with disability.
  • Interpret evaluation results to teachers, administrators and parents.
  • Attend staff, professional, and interagency meetings as needed.
  • Maintain proper license/certificate and meet local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Respond to crisis situations to provide mental health support to students and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by NKESC Administrators.
