Job summary

Utica Community School District in Sterling Heights, Michigan is seeking a School Psychologist to join our team. The role reports to the Building Administrator and requires Michigan licensure and knowledge of special education laws to support students' educational needs.

Responsibilities include screening and evaluating referred children, consulting with parents and staff, planning prevention programs, and designing research-based interventions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state special education laws
• Strong ability to counsel and collaborate with students, families and staff
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to consult with parents, teachers and staff regarding programs
• Understanding of testing, measurement and admin of tests
• Familiarity with organization and administration of agencies for pupils

Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate referred children, select instruments, administer tests and write reports.
• Consult with parents, teachers and staff regarding student programs and needed adaptations.
• Plan and implement prevention programs addressing academic, social and affective needs.
• Design research-based academic and behavioral interventions for students with disabilities.
• Establish and monitor caseloads, procedures and resources for school psychologist services.
• Monitor effectiveness of interventions and progress toward goals.
