Job summary

Dallastown Area School District is seeking a School Psychologist to join a diagnostic team for identification, placement, and remediation of exceptional students. The role involves collaboration with administration, teachers, families, and outside agencies to support student success.

Responsibilities include administering assessments, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, and providing guidance on evaluations and accommodations to staff and families.

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Acceptable record of attendance.
• Willingness to be flexible in terms of teaching assignment within the school setting.
• Completion and submission of all mandated pre-employment documents and information.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with administrators, teachers, outside agencies, mental, legal, health care workers, families and counselors to better serve the needs of students.
• Work cooperatively with and maintain open lines of communication with administrators, parents, students, staff, and the public.
• Develop, maintain, and accurately complete all required confidential records and reports on time.
• Administer tests, schedule conferences, and participate in the multi-disciplinary team for placement decisions.
• Review reevaluation reports of exceptional students.
• Assist teachers with test score interpretation.
• Provide staff with procedures for working with exceptional/at-risk students.
• Conduct parent and student conferences to discuss evaluation results and recommendations.
• Provide evaluation-based recommendations for students' education needs, including special/gifted education accommodations.
• Provide direct service for Mental Health, Threat Assessments, and Manifestation Determination as directed.
• Conduct small group and/or individual social skills sessions.
• Provide mental health consultations as needed by administration.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
