Job summary

Solterra Academy in New Britain, CT is seeking a School Psychologist to provide comprehensive assessments, therapy, and crisis support within a collaborative multidisciplinary team. You will conduct psychological evaluations, participate in PPT meetings, and help develop individualized behavior plans while coordinating with families and teachers.

Qualifications

• 6th year degree in school psychology required.
• CT SDE certification (070) required.
• Minimum of one year of experience with children with challenging behaviors.
• Proficiency with cognitive assessments, behavior rating scales, and adaptive rating scales.
• Training in projective measures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a wide range of clinical services to students and families, including individual therapy, family counseling, and parent education and support.
• Engage in crisis intervention, classroom consultation, and the creation of individualized behavior plans.
• Administer, score, interpret, and write formal integrated psychological evaluations for students aged 5-22.
• Determine student eligibility or continued eligibility for special education services based on assessment results.
• Present assessment outcomes in PPT meetings to the student's treatment team, parents/guardians, and the local educational agency.
• Participate in feedback meetings with school staff, as well as meetings with parents and guardians to address questions or concerns.
