Position Summary

Teamwork Therapies is seeking a qualified School Psychologist to provide school-based psychological services to students in the Richmond, California area. The School Psychologist will work collaboratively with students, families, teachers, special education staff, administrators, and other related-service professionals to support students’ academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and developmental needs.

The position will primarily involve conducting psychoeducational evaluations, participating in IEP meetings, determining eligibility for special education services, and providing consultation to school teams. The School Psychologist will ensure that evaluations and documentation are completed accurately and within all required state and federal timelines.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive initial and triennial psychoeducational evaluations for students referred for special education assessment.
• Review educational records, previous evaluations, IEPs, academic performance, attendance, behavioral information, and other relevant documentation.
• Select, administer, score, and interpret appropriate standardized psychological and educational assessments.
• Assess areas including cognitive functioning, academic achievement, processing skills, social-emotional functioning, adaptive behavior, attention, executive functioning, and other areas as appropriate.
• Conduct classroom observations and obtain information from teachers, parents, students, and other members of the educational team.
• Prepare comprehensive, legally compliant psychoeducational assessment reports.
• Develop clear recommendations based on assessment findings and student needs.
• Determine and provide recommendations regarding eligibility for special education services in accordance with IDEA, California Education Code, and applicable regulations.
• Present assessment findings and recommendations during IEP and eligibility meetings.
• Participate as an active member of multidisciplinary IEP teams.
• Collaborate with Special Education teachers, Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, counselors, administrators, and other professionals.
• Consult with teachers and school staff regarding academic, behavioral, and social-emotional concerns.
• Assist school teams in developing appropriate interventions, accommodations, and supports.
• Support behavioral intervention planning and Functional Behavioral Assessments when appropriate and within the assigned scope.
• Provide crisis consultation and student-support services when required by the school assignment.
• Maintain accurate assessment, service, and compliance documentation.
• Monitor evaluation deadlines and ensure assessments and reports are completed within required timelines.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and family information in accordance with FERPA, HIPAA when applicable, and professional standards.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with parents, school personnel, and Teamwork Therapies leadership.
• Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and professional-development activities as required.

Qualifications

• Master’s, Educational Specialist (Ed.S.), or doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related qualifying field.
• Current California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential in School Psychology or eligibility to obtain the appropriate California credential.
• Knowledge of IDEA, California special education regulations, Section 504, and IEP procedures.
• Experience conducting psychoeducational assessments and writing comprehensive evaluation reports.
• Knowledge of commonly used school psychology assessment instruments.
• Strong understanding of special education eligibility criteria and educational impact.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assessments and meet mandated timelines.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in California public, charter, or non-public schools.
• Experience with initial evaluations and triennial assessments across elementary, middle, and/or high-school populations.
• Experience assessing students with autism, learning disabilities, ADHD, emotional disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and other developmental or educational needs.
• Experience with bilingual or culturally and linguistically diverse student populations.Familiarity with California school-based assessment and IEP documentation systems.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
