Job Title: School Psychologist

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment by delivering counseling, assessments, and interventions for students' academic, emotional, and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments to determine student needs, including cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and social functioning.
  2. Collaborate with educators, parents, and school personnel to design and implement individualized support strategies and interventions.
  3. Provide counseling and intervention services for students facing academic, social, or emotional challenges.
  4. Develop behavior management plans and collaborate on creating positive behavioral support systems.
  5. Interpret assessment results and provide written reports for parents, teachers, and educational staff.
  6. Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) and 504 meetings, as well as planning for special education services.
  7. Offer professional development and training to educators and school staff on mental health, behavior management, and student support.
  8. Support crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  1. Masters Degree or Doctoral Degree in School Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  2. Successful completion of a School Psychology Internship.

Licensure & Certification Requirements For Pennsylvania:

  1. Pennsylvania School Psychologist Certification (PK-12) issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).
  2. Completion of National School Psychology Exam (Praxis II: School Psychology) with a passing score as required by Pennsylvania.
  3. Pennsylvania Licensed Psychologist credential (optional but preferred for expanded services).
  4. Act 48 Continuing Professional Education Requirements to maintain active certification.

Skills & Abilities:

  1. Strong assessment and diagnostic skills in the areas of psychoeducational and psychological evaluations.
  2. Proficient in intervention planning, student counseling, and crisis management.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  5. Knowledge of state and federal laws governing special education and student privacy.
