Job summary

Gallup-McKinley County Schools seeks a School Psychologist to evaluate and support students with emotional or behavioral disabilities, improving educational outcomes through assessments and therapeutic interventions.

The role involves collaboration with the IEP team, counseling, and ensuring alignment with district policies. Strong knowledge of current school psychology practices and PSLF eligibility are aPlus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• 60 graduate hours with internship meeting NM ESEA competencies.
• Internship hours: 1200 total; 600 in a school setting; 300 in counseling with students with emotional disturbances.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for students.
• Interpret evaluation results to staff, parents, and students.
• Serve on IEP teams to develop individualized education plans.
• Provide individual, group, or psychosocial therapy as needed.
• Support classroom teachers and staff in implementing IEPs.
• Participate in case staffing and in-service training.
• Maintain knowledge of developments in school psychology and special education.
