Qualifications

• Knowledge of psycho-educational assessments

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational assessments for students referred either through local school SSTs or special education and consult regularly with teachers, counselors, parents, and administrators regarding the development of interventions for students demonstrating learning and/or behavioral problems.
• Select and administer appropriate, non-discriminatory tests to individual students from a highly diverse student population.
• Review test data from standardized testing and psycho-educational assessments in order to provide instructional recommendations.
• Participate as instrumental members of SSTs to support general education students in the intervention process.
• Participate on eligibility and re-evaluation teams in each school in order to help the team make determinations regarding the need for special education services for students.
• Assist school personnel in providing assistance during crises and ensure availability to counsel students referred to them by counselors, teachers, and administrators.
• Conduct and attend in-service training and presentations to teachers, parents, and school faculties.
• Develop written documents of various comprehensive assessments for supplemental files.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement efforts for all departmental processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
