Job summary

Qualifications

  • PDE Educational Specialist Certificate in School Psychology.
  • Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS), Specialist Degree (Ed.S.), Psy.D., or Ed.D. in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and Chapter 14 regulations.
  • Experience with students who are blind or visually impaired and/or multiple disabilities preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations (ERs, RRs, and others).
  • Select, administer, score, and interpret assessments considering visual impairment and disabilities.
  • Conduct observations, interviews, and functional assessments to determine educational needs.
  • Prepare evaluation reports with eligibility determinations and recommendations.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations and eligibility meetings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, service providers, and families to support learning and wellbeing.
  • Provide consultation on academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and adaptive functioning.
  • Assist in designing evidence-based interventions and PBIS/behavior plans.
  • Support crisis prevention, intervention, and post-crisis planning.
  • Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide training on behavioral strategies and trauma-informed practices.
