Job summary

Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children seeks a School Psychologist to support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success of students through comprehensive psychological services.

You will work with students who are blind or visually impaired, including those with multiple disabilities, to develop interventions and promote positive educational outcomes within a collaborative school environment.

Qualifications

  • Certification as School Psychologist per PDE requirements.
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and Chapter 14 regulations.
  • Experience with students who are blind/visually impaired or with multiple disabilities preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychoeducational evaluations, ERs, RRs, and other assessments.
  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and families to support student learning.
  • Provide counseling and behavioral support as needed within school settings.
  • Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary teams and provide evidence-based interventions.
  • Ensure documentation complies with IDEA, 504, and PDE policies.
