Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools seeks a School Psychologist to provide psycho-educational evaluations and case consultation for students from preschool through 12th grade. You will serve as part of evaluation teams and work itinerantly across district sites.

The position is 180 days per year, typically 7.5 hours daily, with travel between campuses. A valid Washington State School Psychology certificate and background clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certification in School Psychology is required.
  • Training and experience in administering cognitive, academic, adjustment, and adaptive evaluations.
  • Experience leading building-based problem solving and evaluation teams.

Responsibilities

  • Psychological evaluation using instruments psychologists are trained for.
  • Primary facilitator of special education evaluations and reevaluations.
  • Facilitation of decisions around program needs for special services students.
  • Consultation with district staff and professionals on psycho-educational issues.
  • Consultation regarding placement decisions for special needs students.
  • Compilation of evaluation paperwork based on data.
