Qualifications

• Hold or qualify for Washington State ESA school psychologist certificate.
• May accept Substitute Emergency Certificate with a Bachelor’s in Psychology.
• Experience in school psychology.
• Know Washington state and federal laws relating to students with disabilities.
• Experience producing high quality written reports and professional correspondence.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Organizational skills and follow-through.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate referred children; select instruments, administer tests, write reports with recommendations.
• Participate on multidisciplinary team and IEP committee; contribute evaluation findings.
• Provide pre-referral intervention guidance and modifications in the classroom.
• Consult with parents, teachers, and staff regarding program and adaptations.
• Maintain and review data on students; monitor progress and effectiveness of services.
• Manage caseloads and resources to deliver school psychology services.
• Consult with principals, staff and parents on behavior management and special education design.
• Adhere to ethical standards and participate in professional development.
