Job summary

Christina School District in Delaware seeks a School Psychologist to serve at the Delaware School for the Deaf. The role focuses on assessments, behavior support, and collaboration with IEP teams to optimize student outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds a NASP or APA School Psychology degree with supervised internship and an NCSP certificate, plus fluency in American Sign Language and experience with deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Strong collaboration and direct student contact are essential.

Qualifications

  • Valid Initial, Continuing or Advanced License in School Psychology.
  • NASP or APA School Psychology degree with supervised internship.
  • NCSP certificate from NASP or valid state certificate in School Psychology.
  • Fluency in American Sign Language required.
  • 3+ years’ experience with deaf and hard of hearing students (preferred).
  • Must be able to stand/work for 4+ hours; lifting 50 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and assist in BSP development.
  • Assist teachers with classroom management and supports for IEPs.
  • Administer intelligence, achievement tests, and other evaluations.
  • Interpret and report results to parents and IEP teams in writing and verbally.
  • Collaborate with teams through meetings to review and implement BSPs and procedures.
  • Provide direct classroom time with students and staff training on procedures.
