Job summary

Chehalis School District is seeking four School Psychologists for the 2026-27 school year. Positions include two elementary and two secondary roles. Applicants must hold Washington ESA certification, pass background checks, and maintain current First Aid/CPR.

Qualifications

  • Washington State ESA certification as a School Psychologist.
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background clearance.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated successful leadership and management qualities.
  • Working knowledge of rules, regulations, and laws governing special education.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff, families, community members, administration and support personnel.
  • Demonstrated understanding of strategies for working with social, emotional, and behavior needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence of high, sincere interest in students, staff, families, community members, and academic programs of the schools.
  • Provide strong, capable leadership in areas of assignment.
  • Establish rapport, communicate and collaborate effectively with students, staff, families and community members.
  • Exhibit collaborative and collegial practices focused on improving instructional practice and student learning.
  • Demonstrate effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Coordinate psychological and educational testing activities for special education eligibility and program development.
  • Provide direct services and intervention for students in special education as required for success.
  • Promote a safe, positive learning environment through trust and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement data-based IEP processes and access to co-curricular programs as needed.
  • Encourage staff development and support for case managers.
