Job Description

Wilson School District is looking for a certified School Psychologist for the 2023‑2024 school year. Salary is $70,000 to $90,000 per year based on experience. Additional payment: $3,000 for National Board‑Certified Teacher, $1,500 for BLE, $1,000 for ESL, and $500 for Prov ESL.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Identify and place eligible special education students, provide psychological and other testing.
  • Generate and maintain documents supporting placement, program design, and psychoeducational evaluations; maintain files in compliance with IDEA, 504, and state regulations.
  • Consult and counsel identified SE students and parents.
  • Assist with program modifications and behavioral plans for regular education students.
  • Assist CST with assessment and screening of referred students, perform academic, perceptual, and behavioral assessments, review records.
  • Facilitate referrals to community medical and mental health personnel, conduct telephone interviews, generate letters, and attend outside staffing and parent consultations.
  • Facilitate special education program design and implementation (e.g., preschool, crisis plan, non‑violent crisis intervention, SST/MDC).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient functioning of the unit.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Arizona school psychologist certification recorded with Maricopa County School Superintendent.
  • Master’s Degree.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of special education students’ needs and programs.
  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Same as minimum qualifications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Arizona and federal education requirements, IDEA, and assistive technology.
  • Skilled in IEP writing, providing modifications and accommodations, building relationships.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team, design and deliver professional learning, communicate effectively, interpret and answer questions from teachers about special education, inclusion, accommodations, and child study team processes, perform duties with awareness of district policies.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Work requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.; fine finger dexterity, verbal and written communication, and varied temperature and noise levels. Reasonable accommodations can be made.

Proof of immunity to measles and rubella or MMR immunization is required after hire.
