Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a School Psychologist to support students and families in Illinois. The role emphasizes counseling, IEP participation, and collaboration with staff and external partners to promote social and emotional development in children.

The candidate should have a Master's in Psychology and be endorsed as a School Psychologist, with preferred pediatric mental health experience. Strong communication and independent work skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Psychology.
• Endorsement as School Psychologist as prescribed by the State Department of Education.
• Experience or specialized training in pediatric mental health is preferred.
• Ability to work independently with ethical and accountability standards.
• Demonstrates interpersonal skills and communicates effectively in writing and verbally.
• Ability to coordinate activities with professional staff, parents, and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Providing counseling services to students and their parents.
• Participate in a multi-tiered system of support for students with social/emotional and behavioral needs, including interdisciplinary meetings to discuss diagnosis and treatment.
• Participating in initial IEP and annual IEP development as appropriate.
• Collaborate with and coach families and staff during weekly team meetings and follow-up meetings to support social and emotional development.
• Adhere to federal/state/local record-keeping, eligibility documentation, timelines and safeguards.
• Develop and maintain a schedule to ensure compliance with all required meetings and services.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Providing counseling services to students and their parents.
• Participate in a multi-tiered system of support for students with social/emotional and behavioral needs, including participation in inter-disciplinary meetings to evaluate and discuss the diagnosis and treatment of students.
• Participating in initial IEP and annual IEP development as appropriate.
• Collaborate with and coach families and staff, during weekly team meetings and follow-up meetings, to support social and emotional development.
