Job summary

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Psychology is required or eligible for endorsement as School Psychologist.
  • Endorsement as School Psychologist per State DOE bylaws is required or necessary for the role.
  • Experience or specialized training in pediatric mental health is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain ethical and accountability standards.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate activities with professional staff, parents, and external agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Providing counseling services to students and their parents.
  • Participate in a multi-tiered system of support for students with social/emotional and behavioral needs, including participation in inter-disciplinary meetings to evaluate and discuss the diagnosis and treatment of students.
  • Participating in initial IEP and annual IEP development as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with and coach families and staff during weekly team meetings and follow-up meetings to support social and emotional development.
  • Adhere to federal/state/local procedures for record keeping, eligibility documentation, timelines and procedural safeguards.
  • Develop and maintain a schedule to ensure compliance with all required meetings and services.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Providing counseling services to students and their parents.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively and courteously both verbally and in writing.
  • Has the ability to coordinate activities and work effectively with professional staff, support staff, parents, and representatives from agencies outside the school system.
