Job summary

Total Communication Therapy, LLC is hiring a dedicated School Psychologist for full-time and part-time school-based roles within Cherokee County School District in Georgia. We value collaboration, mentorship, and ongoing professional growth to deliver high‑quality services to students.

Ideal candidates hold Ed.S., a Master’s + Specialist, or a Doctoral degree in School Psychology with GaPSC certification or eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and interpreting results.
  • Knowledge of IDEA and Section 504 requirements.
  • Ability to determine eligibility for special education and provide recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with teachers, administrators, families, and teams.
  • Ability to collaborate with school personnel on academic, behavioral, social‑emotional, and mental health interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for students referred for special education.
  • Interpret assessment results and prepare written evaluation reports.
  • Participate in eligibility, IEP, Section 504, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and related providers to support student success.
  • Provide consultation on behavioral, academic, and social‑emotional interventions.
  • Assist with FBAs, BIPs, and crisis response as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with standards.
  • Support data‑driven recommendations and collaborative problem solving.

Total Communication Therapy is hiring a dedicated and qualified School Psychologist for full-time and part-time school-based positions with Cherokee County School District.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504, Georgia eligibility requirements, and special education due process.
  • Knowledge and experience conducting comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and interpreting assessment results.
  • Ability to determine eligibility for special education services and develop recommendations that support student success.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills when collaborating with teachers, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to consult with school personnel regarding academic, behavioral, social‑emotional, and mental health interventions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary special education team.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for students referred for special education services.
  • Interpret assessment results and prepare comprehensive written evaluation reports.
  • Participate in eligibility, IEP, Section 504, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, families, and related service providers to support student success.
  • Provide consultation regarding behavioral, academic, and social‑emotional interventions.
  • Assist with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and crisis response as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all federal, state, district, and professional standards.
  • Support positive learning environments through data‑driven recommendations and collaborative problem‑solving.
Education Qualifications
  • Specialist (Ed.S.), Master's plus Specialist, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
License & Certification Qualifications
  • Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certification in School Psychology (or eligibility for certification).
