Job summary

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools is seeking a Utility Paraprofessional to provide lunchroom, hallway, and student supervision across district buildings. The assignment may vary by needs and location, with 10–30 hours per week and a starting date as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent recognises basic educational level.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children in a school setting.
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff, students, families, and the public.
• Ability to be flexible with assignments, schedules, and building locations.
• Ability to follow directions and work under supervision of administration.

Responsibilities

• Provides lunchroom, cafeteria, and recess supervision.
• Provides student supervision and support during arrival, dismissal, hallway transitions, assemblies, and other school activities.
• Provides overage coverage or temporary paraprofessional support when additional staffing is needed.
• Serves in short-term emergency paraprofessional assignments, including 30-day emergency paraprofessional coverage, as needed.
• Provides general classroom, building, or student support consistent with paraprofessional responsibilities.
• Assists with student behavior support, redirection, and supervision under the direction of certified staff or building administration.
• Provides clinic, first aid, and medication support to students, as permitted by District procedures and applicable training.
• Supports students with general instructional, social, emotional, behavioral, or physical needs, as assigned.
• May be assigned to different buildings, programs, or work locations based upon District needs.
• Performs other paraprofessional duties as assigned.
