Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking an Occupational Therapist to support students in a school setting near Birmingham, AL. This contract role aims to enhance students' growth and success throughout the school year by collaborating with teachers, families, and administrators.

Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapy license (or eligibility) in the state of Alabama
• Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to assess, plan, and implement individualized strategies for diverse student needs
• Familiarity with IEP development and progress monitoring
• Flexible and team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and ongoing assessments for students referred through the special education process
• Develop and execute treatment plans tailored to each student's unique needs within the educational setting
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote positive outcomes
• Document progress, participate in IEP meetings, and maintain compliance with applicable regulations
• Offer guidance, training, and support to school staff on best practices in occupational therapy for educational environments
• Contribute creative solutions for adaptive equipment and classroom modifications
