Summary:

We are seeking an interested individual to lead cooking classes in various community centers across Buffalo. This role involves teaching participants practical cooking skills, nutrition education, and strategies for making healthier food choices. The candidate will follow a 4-week curriculum designed to promote healthy eating habits in an interactive and supportive environment. Responsibilities:

• Lead hands-on cooking classes at multiple community centers, following the pre-designed 4-week curriculum. Procurement of class supplies will also need to be done.
• Educate participants on nutrition basics, meal planning, and making healthier food choices using accessible, budget-friendly ingredients.
• Demonstrate simple, nutritious recipes that emphasize whole foods and balanced meals.
• Foster an inclusive, engaging learning environment that encourages participant interaction and confidence in cooking.
• Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse cultural backgrounds and dietary needs.
• Provide guidance on food safety, portion control, and ingredient substitutions.
• Collaborate with community center staff to ensure smooth class operations.
• Collect feedback from participants to help assess the program's impact.
• Maintain records of attendance and class progress.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian student
• CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).

Experience:

• Experience in community nutrition, public health, or teaching cooking classes preferred.
