Job summary

National Staffing Solutions-Therapy seeks a Travel School Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. The role is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with an ASAP start and a 26-week contract in a school setting.

The OT will evaluate and support students, collaborate with IEP teams, and develop intervention plans to meet educational goals while maintaining compliance with school procedures. BLS certification and MA licensure are required.

• Experience participating in IEP meetings and evaluations
• Current BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure team understanding of student occupational performance through evaluation, planning and service delivery.
• Evaluates student ability and formulates occupational profile through functional, behavioral and standardized assessments, observation, checklists, histories and interviews.
• Synthesizes evaluation results into a comprehensive written report reflecting strengths and barriers to participation; directs program development and guides intervention.
• Develops intervention plans based on student needs and evaluation results.
• Participates in multidisciplinary meetings to review results, integrate findings, and develop IEP goals and intervention plans.
• Coordinates with IEP team to determine appropriate treatments and attends IEP Team Meetings.

Daily Range of Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:

• Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure team understanding of student occupational performance strengths and needs, through evaluation, educational program planning, and service delivery.
• Evaluates the student’s ability and formulates the student’s occupational profile through a variety of functional, behavioral, and standardized assessments, skilled observation, checklists, histories, and interviews.
• Synthesizes evaluation results into a comprehensive written report which reflects strengths and barriers to student participation in the educational environment; directs program development; and guides evidence-based intervention.
• Develops occupationally based intervention plans based on student needs and evaluation results.
• Participates in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines, offer recommendations, and develop individual education plans and intervention plans to achieve IEP goals.
• Coordinates with the IEP team for the purpose of determining appropriate treatments, etc. to meet the needs of specific students and attends IEP Team Meetings.

Job Qualifications for the Occupational Therapist:

• Occupational Therapy Graduate from an accredited school.
• Occupational Therapist license / Licensure in the state of practice.
• One or more year(s) of school-based experience.
• Participation in IEP Meetings and evaluations.
• Current BLS certification.
