Job summary

Responsibilities include supervising staff, training, food preparation, serving, cashiering, and ordering supplies, forecasting production, checking deliveries, and maintaining records while delivering high customer service to students and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must possess a current ServSafe certification.
• Must obtain an SNA Level 1 Certificate within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of food service methods and practices, including food safety and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily school cafeteria operations and staff.
• Train staff to perform food preparation, serving, cleanup, and cashiering.
• Learn and follow USDA regulations governing programs.
• Communicate effectively with staff, students, and community.
• Order weekly supplies by established due dates based on resources on hand.
• Forecast production needs as requested by the School Nutrition Manager.
• Read and follow standardized recipes furnished by School Nutrition.
• Check quality, quantity and accuracy of weekly deliveries and invoices.
• Act as manager in the manager’s absence and cashier with strong customer service.
• Unpack and store supplies in designated storage area.
• Complete daily records such as production records and closing paperwork.
